The Chancel Choir leads the music for worship in the 10:30 a.m. service and for special services during the year. The Chancel Choir rehearses each Wednesday night from 7:00 until 8:00 pm. Membership is open to anyone who enjoys singing and no audition is required. Please contact the music office at 686-1360.

Handbell Choirs Director: Peggy Hanson Historically, bells have played an important role in calling parishioners to worship or prayer. Without modern telecommunication conveniences, bells were important tools in conveying important events. Often large cast bells would toll to remind the faithful of morning or evening prayers, to signal deaths or celebrations such as marriages or baptisms. Since 1990 handbells have been a part of the worship experience at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Handbell choirs enroll in September for the year. Because each ringer is responsible for playing a given number of bells, participating in a ringing ensemble requires a high level of commitment and responsibility. This discipline and commitment is excellent training for children. Adult Hand Bell Choir
The Adult Hand Bell Choir ring 5 octaves of Malmark handbells and Choir chimes. The bells are often seen in worship not only playing anthems and service music, but also accompanying hymns, and accompanying vocal choirs. Reading music is not a prerequisite for ringing handbells since there is a training and teaching period so that you can learn to ring. However, the Adult Hand Bell Choir are geared to experienced and more advanced ringers. Chime Choir
Designed to teach children the joys of music and handbell ringing, Bells welcomes children in grades 3-5. Basic handbell techniques and music fundamentals are learned and put to use. The music ministry at Westminster Presbyterian Church is an integral part of the worship life of the congregation. It seeks to express the love and glory of God and enhance the worship experience through inspiring and artistic expression of praise.


In keeping with the rich tradition and heritage of musical excellence at Westminster Church, the music ministry endeavors to offer learning opportunities for all of its participants. There is a place in the music ministry at Westminster Presbyterian for anyone who wishes to learn, grow, serve, and praise God in song. Come make a joyful noise unto the Lord!
